Rosie Landrebe and Chris Williamson win the Selectors events

NSW GC Selectors winners: Rosie Landrebe and Chris Williamson progress to play in Croquet Australia's NSW Bronze Medal event, 21 - 23 June at Mackey Park, Tempe.

The Golf Croquet Selectors event is held to assist selectors in naming the GC State team. This year a Woman's block and a Men's block were contested, with the winner from each block, progressing to contest the NSW GC Bronze Medal*.

The Events were tightly contested, the players playing each other in a best of 2 competition over 3 days, 31 May to 2 June. With cold wintery conditions  and drenching rain on Saturday the players nonetheless demonstrated a high level of skill with a number of tight games and split results.

In the Women's block, it was a tough fight with 3 players vying for the top spot: Pauline Markwell, Jill Sullivan and Rosie Landrebe. Rosie prevailed with superior game wins between the 3 leaders. Jill was second and Pauline third.

The Men's Event had a clear winner in Chris Williamson, with Darren McLoughlin second on net hoops over Peter Sinclair.

*The Bronze medal event is an invitation event for the top GC singles player in the State, and the winner will contest the Croquet Australia Gold Medal event for the top Australian GC player, in Queensland in September
